No although they are network shared.

So it occured to me maybe try it under a local user which only happens to be root, so I did the following.
This is a LOT more info than I usually get when it's run from a user.

I assume all of the DBus errors would go away if I actually logged into X under root rather than exporting an X session to allow root to connect.

There is no Gnome power manager btw, I am running under KDE, so maybe an
underlying gnome service that is supposed to be running and causing the
SQLite DB error.
