Re: [Banshee-List] Banshee 0.11 ipod problem

I figured as much. For whatever reason, Gentoo does not properly install
either the HAL FDI file or the HAL method for WriteIpodInfo, so we can't
access the required information on your iPod to detect it properly. This
is a Gentoo bug.

Are you positive that when Banshee configure runs, the configure output
says it will be building with iPod support? There may be another ebuild
bug or something that is not actually causing iPod support to be built
correctly, even if you have the right flags.

Then again, it could very well be a gtkpod issue. If you have everything
backed up, nuke the data partition and reboot your iPod. The iPod will
rebuild the necessary directory structures and files, and Banshee can
start off with it fresh. It's hard to tell the cause.
