Hi All,
I just got an 80 gig iPod from the Apple online store. I plugged it
into a windows PC to update it and iTunes said it was up-to-date, so I
think they are loaded with the latest firmware. It mostly works with
Banshee on Ubuntu, misc hangs aside. I have a few 1000s of tracks in
the Banshee library right now and am working on getting more in there.
I am polishing up the Artist/Album names and downloading the cover
art. I have a script that converts the wma and flac format tracks to
.mp3s and puts ID3 tags into them.
I'm using the unsigned Ubuntu builds from apebox. Yesterday I had a
hang while syncing and the database on the iPod seems to be wiped.
This is no big deal since I don't have any DRM content. I understand
that Banshee is really new (and really great) software written on what
for linux is kind of a bleeding-edge dev environment (mono/C#) so I'm
not really concerned about the hangs, although of course I'd like to
see Banshee become more stable. Anyway, let me know if there is a way
for me to help.

...just in case, is it possible the newest
iPod's came without the newest firmware?...
Matt
