Cannot connect to NetworkManager (I'm not using it, as it doesn't seem to
work well with madwifi on MacBooks)


OT, but NetworkManager works fine with my MacBook on Ubuntu.  I did
build it from source though.  Make sure you point it at the device
that supports wireless extensions (e.g. ath0 not wlan0).
