i know this has been asked a bunch of times. and i know a patch used to exist (it prob doesn't apply/work anymore) and, i know aaron had talked about this feature waiting/being on hold for a while. i also know it was/is listed on the road map for 0.11.x series: Evaluate Oscar's performance work ->See what makes sense once the new view/model is in place ->Reduce string duplication/allocations <ding> ->Provide a browser that takes advantage of the model filtering i was wondering if any progress has been made, or if anyone was planning on working on this at all. it is the one thing i've most wanted banshee to get for a long time, and is the only thing that keeps me, and i bet others, using rhythmbox over banshee. with the old patch to the 0.10.x series, banshee was even faster with this, i think because far less had to be rendered/sorted when using this view mode. i just want to get a sense of who out there wants this, and if anyone is working on it. i would love to try, but, although i have a good deal of programming experience, none of it is with C# or gtk, something i really, really want to change. if someone would be willing to act as a guide/mentor, this is something i would have no problem working on. anyways, great work with the 0.11.x series thus far. i've been using it more and more. the browser view is the one last holdout I have for rhythmbox. regards, -- Matthew Nicholson <sjoeboo sjoeboo com> sjoeboo.com
