I think that playlists should be children of their source, at least at
the first version of the patch, so as to simplify it and release it not
very late. Besides, for a later version, I don't see why this decision
would not allow to create playlists when an iPod is not connected,
because I suppose that playlists could be synchronized as well, but
probably this is more complex (for example, iTunes doesn't allow this).

BTW, it seems that you should synchronize your efforts with Gabriel Burt ;)
