The problem is not fixable in Banshee. faac is junk... always has been.

Wishful thinking probably; I think I'll remove it as it's not even
available in GStreamer 0.10. We'll have to wait and see what AAC options
will become available in the future.

ffmux_mp4 and faac has always been broken for me, even using decodebin.
Again, I think the best option is to just wait and see what happens with
0.10.
