[Banshee-List] Three issues Banshee in Ubuntu Dapper

Hey guys,

Maybe you could give me a couple clues on some areas I'm struggling with right now in Ubuntu Dapper.

Banshee version 0.10.2: Bashee begins playing the first track as soon as it starts. Can this "feature" be turned off? I don't see anywhere to do it in the application or through gconf.

I've been trying to build from anonymous Gnome CVS with gstreamer0.10 which has recently made it's way into Dapper using the autogen option: --with-gstreamer-0-10. It always fails:
checking GStreamer element cdparanoia... not found.
configure: error: The 'cdparanoia' GStreamer plugin was not found.
Now, I have the gstreamer0.8-cdparanoia package installed but there doesn't appear to be a gstreamer0.10-cdparanoia. I've been attempting with gstreamer0.10 's new package names to determine whether cdparanoia will be released as a separate package as it was in gstreamer0.8 or if it should be included in the one of the "base", "good", "bad", or "ugly" packages. Any idea? ... and now that I think about it, isn't cdparanoia for CD ripping (which I think hasn't been ported yet) or does it also do cd playback.

My final minor issue is around my iPod. I have the new 60GB iPod Video ("The iPod"). Banshee 0.10.2 runs just fine (the Ubuntu package is, of course, running against gstreamer0.8) with my new iPod for the most part. However, it's a little slow to startup with the iPod plugged in and when I click the iPod list item within Banshee, it takes approximately 13 seconds to parse my 4067 media files (20-ish gig). While it's doing this it's frozen. I only bring it up because Rhythmbox (running against the same ipod-cil package that banshee runs against) starts up MUCH faster with the iPod plugged in and it parses the playlist almost instantly (even though while it tries, it only gets a handful of my Playlists).

Thanks,
Matt Philmon
