Balsa's source code is maintained in a git repository, which in recent years has been hosted at git.gnome.org. GNOME decided to move all projects to a GitLab[0] instance, and Balsa has now been moved[1]. If you use Balsa as distributed by one of the distros, you will see no consequences from this change. If you help us by testing Balsa's latest and greatest code in the master branch, you should not need to make any immediate changes to your workflow; GNOME will redirect your git pulls to the new URL. But GitLab facilitates a more user-friendly environment, which we hope will encourage more folks to get involved in keeping Balsa an essential e-mail client.

If you explore the branches at [1], you will see two new ones: wip/gmime3: This will be used to port the master branch from gmime-2.6 to gmime-3. It's currently just a mirror of master--I'll write when it's really ported. wip/gtk4: This branch contains ongoing work to adapt Balsa to the forthcoming Gtk-4 API. It also takes advantage of features in recent versions in the GNOME toolchain, some of which are not accessible in the stable master branch. Comments and contributions are welcome, as always! Best, Peter
