It used to work due to a lucky coincidence. m4 macros are just that, the generator does not do much syntax checking. There is another problem (I replied but with the wrong identity : see remark later)When I build it with the new version of autoconf (in Debian sid, it is an CVS version), some icons are missing in the toolbars. There was a new update of the autoconf cvs release in Debian an I still have the "missing icons" problem:
Some icons in the toolbars are missingThis happens only when built with this particular version of autoconf (2.59.cvs.2006.05.25) tree build with autoconf 2.59a is safe.
Maybe the fix employed has some side effects? Best regards Jean-Luc
