OK: since `select all' is now really `expand and select all',  
perhaps we should rename it as such, and add `expand and select  
current thread(s)' immediately below it.  That should be self- 
explanatory.

I guess it should actually expand and select any subthread whose  
head is currently selected, but not the whole thread, right?

Oh, and I guess anything thread-related should be desensitized  
when the view is flat!
