Add following line to ~/.gtkrc-2.0

gtk-can-change-accels = 1

It is not possible to do it automatically yet but you can press Ctrl-Z 
now and then.

I do not know how the tkrat alias file format looks like (can you post 
an example?) but I am sure simple scripts would do.
