First, I don't understand why you need both setups, but that is beyond the
point :)

You're right, when balsa started using libesmtp I made it a compile option
thinking people forking /usr/sbin/sendmail wouldn't need to deliver via
smtp.

I believe your problem is a sendmail config problem not a balsa problem per
say. Depending on your needs, you should configure some delivery rules to
acomodate for the mail that should be forwarded to the ISP (which is the
default i suspect).

"sendmail" here mean sendmail or postfix or whatever you use.
