I had a closer look at the problem... actually, it was my fault, sorry!!! A
wrong calculation of the text length which will get wrapped, caused by some
">=" comparisons instead of ">". So resizing the message pane by a single
pixel hides the problem, which was the reason that I did not recognise it.

I *hope* the attached patch (also removes one confusing comment in the
relevant routine) fixes this issue. Can you confirm that?
