CVS help

Hi,

I'm getting into this whole GNOME development thing, and I've modified
my copy of the Balsa cvs source to save and restore index column sizes
between sessions.  However, how do I get those changes back into the
repository?  I'm guessing there's a way to get cvs to make a diff for
me, but I'm not sure exactly how.  I'm reading the documentation, but
that thing is friggin huge.  Any help would be appreciated.
