Hello Everybody,

My name is Felix, and I am a completely new "GUI writer".
From this web page: "http://developer.gnome.org/gnome-devel-demos/stable/image-viewer.c.html" I have inferred that in order to work comfortably with GTK+, I should install "Anjuta".
I need to install this program on Linux (Ubuntu).
After downloading the 3.2.0 version from "http://www.anjuta.org/", and an opening of the "INSTALL" file, I am receiving a text file with a lot of instructions...

My questions are:
Is it possible to use Anjuta on Linux?
As far as I know, Anjuta currently only compiles for Linux.
How should I install "Anjuta" on Linux platform in the most short and correct way? Should I just follow the instructions in the text file?
You may just type "sudo apt-get install anjuta" in the terminal in Ubuntu and it will be installed. If you're using Natty or Oneiric, you will be able to install 3.0.x and 3.2.0, respectively. If you're using Maverick or older, you can only install the older, 2.30.x versions, from apt-get.
Where exactly it will be installed? I want to have control on this...I mean is it possible to install it from every directory in Linux?
Maybe there an installation file, which will "do the job" for me?
You only need to compile from source if you want the latest version (and the latest bug fixes, features, etc.). I usually use the very latest, straight from git :) (though it is unnecessary, but I need many of the bug fixes).
What is "git"? When you say "to compile from source", you mean to use the instructions from the "INSTALL" file?

Another very important question is:
I am working wiht ROS (Robot Operating System) anyone knows if Anjuta is compatible with ROS build system (namely cmake)???
I will be grateful to receive the answer as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance,
Felix.
