OK.... After trying to reinstall libgnome, still no joy.
But then I did a search for libgnome.so ... found two. one in usr/lib64 and
the other in user/lib64/libglade/2.0 (with a newer version in it. backed up
the one in usr/lib64, copied the newer one to there & hey presto... no more
error... 
It then threw up another missing file 'libbonobo.so' which just so happened
to be in the libglade/2.0 folder as well.
Copied that to the usr/lib64 folder and...
Wohooooo, my App Wizard works!
