[Anjuta-list] New file and symbol browser for 0.1.9

Hi all

Anjuta 1.x is now divorced from CCView (in my local tree only for the
time being :-). This has led to the following:

a) Executable size (statically linked binary with debug info,
unstripped) has come down from 7.5 Mb to 4.6 Mb, an improvement of
almost 40 % ! The stripped binary size has come down from 1.3 Mb to less
than 1 Mb.The tarball size will come down by quite a bit as well once
this goes into the main tree.

b) More features: Some screenshots of the new symbol browser and file
browsers:

Also, try out the contect menu for jumping to symbol deinfitions and
browser-like back/forward history + numerous other inor enhancements
(compiling a single file using make, for example).

Hope you like it ! Currently, accelerators are a bit screwed up, once I
fix those and sync with Andy, this should be there in the main tree (but
see (c) below).

c) More bugs ! I desperately need some help testing the stability and
usability of the new code. I've put up the stuff here:

http://www.angelfire.com/linux/biswapesh/Downloads/anjuta-0.1.8.99.tar.gz
http://www.angelfire.com/linux/biswapesh/Downloads/anjuta-0.1.8.99-1.src.rpm
http://www.angelfire.com/linux/biswapesh/Downloads/anjuta-0.1.8.99-1.i386.rpm

Please give them a go and report crashes, misfeatures, feature requests,
etc. to me, so that I can get the stuff stabilized in time for inclusion
in the main tree by 0.1.9.

For those hacking on anjuta, the tarball includes the PRJ file for the
anjuta source tree.

IMPORTANT! Please don't submit bug reports on the new symbol and file
browser at the anjuta website, since they are not part of the main
release yet ! Instead, send them directly to me. Also note that I've
changed the version number to be somewhere between 0.1.8 and 0.1.9 (i.e.
0.1.8.99). This is deliberate, so that people confuse this with the
official (pre)releases. Another thing to remember is that this is alpha
code, so expect weird behaviour and don't use it for serious work
(though it has been stable enough, if a bit quirky, for me so far).

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Biswa.
