Re: [orca-list] Help installing TTSynth for Orca in Ubuntu 8.10

After this, you'll need to download gnome-speech-ibmtts to get Orca to recognise the TTSynth synth.

Using something like:
Apt-get install gnome-speech-ibmtts
Has worked in the past however doesn't owrk for me on Ubuntu 8.10. I think the only way out of this is going to be installing Gnome-speech from source. That's not as difficult as it sounds though.
I'll post instructions later on it.... after I've had a coffee.

Hi,

Try installing the package with

sudo dpkg-i ttsynthcore-1.0-i386.deb

This may fail due to missing dependancies.

To correct the dependancies run

sudo apt-get -f install

You will be prompted to enter your serial number as part of the postinst
script which wont run until all dependancies are met.

I hope this helps.

Mitch
