hide scrolledWindow hscrollbar

hi, i have a scrolledwindow containing a table, this table contains 10 * 100
custom widgets.

i wish to hide the hscrollbar but if i set it's policy to NEVER the
scrollbar does hide but the window is now huge as its showing all the 10 *
100 controls at once.

how do i hide the hscrollbar but still give me normal functionality?

I hope you understand, it should be simple really.
