patchs sent as binary data may not be readable. That's probably
why I never looked at them. How do you process a .bin ???
Those patches look like the have they "diff" extension on the post.
Perhaps you are referring to the binary mode that the Gmane servers
sends the files as to make sure they represent the exact content that
was originally posted? Perhaps you could try to find the same post in
your mail archives. That might give you what you expect? Or just rename
the files to whatever you want and open them with a text editor?
