Just a note Re: 64 vs. 32bit -- I've compiled from source with GCC
version 3.4.2 [FreeBSD] 20040728 and observed the problem on several
Intel P3 and P4 (32bit) boxes.

I also submitted the bug report Daniel refers to and will append this
to the report later today.
