Thanks for your help Daniel. The libxml2-2.6.11-1.src.rpm I downloaded from xmlsoft was corrupted, I tried to decompress it and it fails during decompression. So I downloaded and installed libxml2-2.6.10-1.src.rpm and everything went well.

Sounds like a corruption of the package. I can't explain this.
