[xslt] xhtml input encoding problem

Hi

If some problemes with xhtml as input for xsltproc.

The input data for my Application in normal
html. To get valid xhtml I use tidy (http://www.w3.org/tidy).
tidy delivers valid xhtml that should be ready to
use as input for xsltproc.

But there are still problems with encoding.
the HTML-File should be iso-8859-1 encoded -
but it is not. Tidy can't remove illegal characters.

The Problems are   ...
-> xsltproc dies.

Any idea how to solve this Problem?
