You will surely forgive us for our rude disbelief in light of the following facts:

1. In the time it took you to write these emails, you could have uploaded an archive of the source in its current form to the same website.

2. Lots of people want to take advantage of us liberty-minded folks by dropping keywords in order to make money or get attention. Few want to actually contribute. Source code talks; everything else walks.

3. "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." We're just being vigilant.

4. Remember Gnutella? The author released binaries but no source code, and splashed the "GPL" notice over everything to attract attention. After AOL shut him down, it took weeks for his code to see the light of day, and only after much work in secretive IRC channels.

In short: there are established and trusted ways to add your contribution to the free software community; your tactic is not among them. If you don't want to release under the GPL, that's fine; it's your right, and I have no criticism for you. But please spare us the advertising hype. If you want to make free software, give us the source code. If not, please don't waste our time or make excuses.

Thanks.
