Encountering a build error on Cygwin (1.7.16-1):

$ ./configure && make
â
Makefile:949: recipe for target `gen_prog' failed

Before that, there is:

Found 1607 functions in libxml2-api.xml
Found 55 functions in libxml2-python-api.xml
Generated 889 wrapper functions, 557 failed, 216 skipped

Seems to originate in: ./python/Makefile

In case it matters, my python --version is 2.6.8 .
