I do not know anything about libxml or if it is the problem. I have
several other programs that don't install beyond this particular one.


For the record, I've fixed this but don't know why it acted as it did.
Vmware-vix had installed the older version of libxml-2.6.26 in its own
install directory but for some reason some other packages were picking
it up instead of the proper one. I uninstalled vmware-vix and things
are acting normal again. Thanks for looking. Here's the deal:
