FYI, I'm using Microsoft Application Verifier v3.4

which is free (as in Microsoft's beer) and works quite well.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm testing out your patch and will let
you know if I hit any problems.
I just tested the patch on Win32. It works great:
The thread 0x1728 has exited with code 1 (0x1).
No memory leaks detected.
Visual Leak Detector is now exiting.
The thread 0x1414 has exited with code 0 (0x0).
The thread 0x1374 has exited with code 0 (0x0).
