A question re something I don’t understand the reason behind….

 

Looking at xmlEncodeEntitiesReentrant in both 2.4.25 and the lastest 2.6 release.

 

In 2.4.25, the code to encode apostrophe is #IFDEF’d out, and in 2.6 it has been removed entirely.

 

I note that using SAX2 to parse a document, that it DOES convert &apos; into an apostrophe, so apostrophe handling appears to be there when DEcoding but not ENcoding.

 

I don’t understand the reason why this code is not there, can someone explain to me? Thanks!
