i'm getting a bad bad segfault on linux AND windows when calling the
xmlFree() routine to free a xmlChar pointer returned by xmlGetProp().
i'm using libxml2 as a dinamic library on both linux an win32 and there is
no other reason for the program to segfault.
1/ did you checked for NULL returns ?
2/ lots and lots of code uses xmlGetProp() and don't crash
so basically I would say we can't reproduce it
3/ you did not say what version you're using
(nor how you are compiling it/linking it)
The next step is for you to provide a standalone example of C code showing
the problem on Linux (and the associated XML instance).
