[xml] failed to compile version 2.6.15

hi mailing list!

i tried to compile version 2.6.15, but i got linking errors:
./.libs/libxml2.so: undefined reference to `xmlParseNamespace__internal_alias'
there are additional undefined reference to symbols containing 
__internal_alias in their names. how can i solve this problem? version 2.6.9 
compiles without any problems but due to the bugs in this version i want to 
update to the most recent version of libxml2.

gcc: 3.4.1
binutils: 2.14
