"Port to 32-bit Windows"
Ah, so easily said but so hard to do when you have a 12 year old poorly
documented POS appl using a 16 bit Btrieve D/B and proprietary 16 bit screen
interface running on a base of 3500 DOS and Windows machines out there -
some of which use a 1991 or earlier processor.
Ironically, the reason for my question is to test a possible migration path.
If I can get the appl to parse XML I can use an external client to
communicate with Web services for me and export all my business logic into
Web services. When I am left with a hollow Appl, I can replace it with a
browser interface.

Has anyone ported the library to link with DOS based 16 bit C language
applications?
I am running a large POS appl written in Borland C v3.1 (circa 1991).
I read, and I don't believe my eyes. :-) You poor sod. Port your large app
to 32-bit Windows, believe me, it will be a lot easier a task.
Unless you also use a circa 1991 processor, uncapable of 32-bit protected
mode :-)
Ciao,
Igor
