I haven't looked at this yet, but reading into what Stéphane has said, this
sounds like it may work in some cases (including mine) but not all. You're
no doubt aware that you have to be prepared to do everything 22.33 different
ways under Windows. I'd like to find a somewhat elegant way to support all
the cases we can think of, or at least to add to the supported cases. When
I've had a chance to go over Eugene's code, I'll have a better sense whether
we gain and/or lose anything by incorporating it, and propose a patch if it
seems appropriate.

need to diff with the current version and check manually.
Hum, what's the status of this. Should this be applied (in which
case a patch would be better) or do Windows users don't have consensus
on that code ?
