[xml] update failed

Hi,

in my system (red hat 8.0) I have libxml2 versione 2.4.23 (default installation). Well, I'd like to update my 
libxml2 version to 2.4.30 (last version). So I downloaded rpm-src from xmlsoft e I tryed to to

rpm --rebuild libxml2.....

But this failed: the message I receveid is something about libtool missing.

Am I doing something wrong?

Can someone help me?
