Well I know in my case I like that xmms remembers its position, but I don't want xterm remembering its. I suppose this can be made configurable in the window manager of course. IMO, if this was meant to replace the app saving its position itself, then it should default to not-saving, and the app should have to set the hint to be saved at all.
