You have to manually install the older Lucid package. It's provided in my 
installation archive : 

http://www.tarnyko.net/valaide/ValaIDE-0.7.2_(UBUNTU12).tar.bz2 

dpkg -i libgdl-1-common*
dpkg -i libgdl-1-3*
