Do you have an example or bugzilla link?
Perhaps unrelated, but fundamental classes seem to require explicit
constructor chaining to make it work, even for default constructors,
whereas gobject classes do not.
Yes, that's still marked as TODO in the code generator. This should work
the same way for GObject and non-GObject classes.
