Yeah, it was designed to help people, not to disturb them, so it's meant
to be enabled by default. These days, we don't often introduce features
that are not meant for the majority.

I'm not sure the fact that windows also appear greyed out from the
overview was really a goal. You may want to ask people on the
#gnome-design IRC channel about that (ask jimmac).
