Same behaviour here (I've never changed any *screensaver* settings since
installing though).

In the end it probably does not matter. Feel free to file a ticket at
bugzilla.gnome.org if there isn't one yet.

Probably the developers know much better than this list.

I sometimes wonder why off-topic stuff ends up at the usability list.
