How about a button for a new tab and a new window?
like in firefox.

I know this is getting off-topic, but I think it does fit. Could it be
made switch tab? Currently, Control+Tab focuses the tab but does not
switch. So you have to type Control+Tab; Right; Control+Tab; Right,
etc. instead of Control+Tab; Control+Tab.
