What fine tuning would need to be done to make this possible?
Currently, I have to use the locate command with a mv and move all files
to a new location in one folder. But it would be nice to implement a
more organized feature in nautilus.

All you need is a quick way to expand ALL folders in
list view.
On OS X, I can do CMD-A (select all) followed by
CMD-right (expand all folders).
That takes you one level down.
Or you could just create a search folder with empty
criteria, starting from the folder you want.
... Except search folders don't quite work properly.
Another case of implementing a flashy new feature and
then not following up with the more boring fine tuning
work. :(
