Hmm, we definitely had a discussion about this very issue at one point,
but I can't find a bug about it so it may just have been on IRC, and I
can't remember the outcome either. Please file a bug against EOG and
we'll take it from there.
(I'm afraid I can't help much with your other questions though...)
