You'll probably want to use VNC for this... run a VNC server on your
server, and VNC clients on the machines that connect to it. See
http://realvnc.com and http://tightvnc.com, for example.
FWIW, VNC has nothing to do with GNOME specifically, it works on all
sorts of desktops. GNOME does come with a VNC server (called vino),
but it only exports the desktop that's currently visible on the
screen, as it was really intended to be used as a kind of 'remote
assistance' feature like Windows has. So that's not quite what you
want.
Or you could buy some SunRays instead :)
