I would agree with that assessment!
Finder:
- click in 'empty space' - focus immediately
- click on object - focus on release, and select
object
- click and drag to current app - don't focus
- click on widgets - focus immediately, but the widget
does not take the click.
but TextEdit appears to detect the length of the click
rather than what's being clicked. A long click
(without movement) on a window belonging to inactive
TextEdit does not bring it to focus, even on release!
A focussing click does not affect the selection.
