One thing to consider regardin where the trash can is has to do with
workflow and the effect it has on window placement. Often times when the
"start" button is at the lower left corner, you will see a diagonal
spread of windows going from the lower left to the upper right. In this
case keeping the trash icon in the lower right makes sense because there
is a better chance that it will be visible with many windows. Just my
two cents.
