I agree and I guess that categorizes me as a power user because I use
workspaces all the time. If GNOME got rid of workspaces I would be
forced to switch to another DE because to me they are crucial. On the
other hand, I have watched plenty of newbie Linux users and they
doesn't get it. I show them how to use workspaces and how you can
organize windows so you don't have to have 20 windows in the taskbar.
It seems like the concept, in the way it is currently implemented, is
much to advanced for ordinary users.
