That sounds really nice. How about that tooltip not being a label at
all, but an overlay text-only tooltip? It could use shadow/outline so
it wouldn't give readability problems. Of course it should be
pleasant/subtle enough to fit in the Gnome Desktop... that could be an
interesting and "cool" feature to have.
