There's possibly some merit in that, although it's not something I've
personally discussed with users. However more than any other shortcut,
I would imagine most people would expect Ctrl-Q to close all the windows
they'd opened, not just spatial ones. (And personally I'd expect that
of this command anyway, whatever the shortcut.)
Browser windows already use Ctrl-Alt-W for "Close All Windows", so it
still makes more sense to me to use that (or better still, the HIG's
Ctrl-Shift-W as I suggested earlier) for both types of window, and have
it actually close all the windows you've opened-- i.e. what the menu
item actually says it's going to do :)
