Well, I want it to optionally notify on song changes by popping up the
title of the new song. Unfortunately the current GNOME notification
area doesn't implement messages. I tried fixing that once but got lost
in a twisty maze of XEvents, all different.
So yes, right now it's doing nothing that an applet couldn't do for
example.
