Not that I want to be sarcastic but there is a user-visible concept of a
process: when an app crashes, all the windows that use its process die
with it. In such a case, users can see that these windows belonged to
the same process. And most of the time they get frustrated because they
don't find it logical to have windows dying because of a crash of
another window.
